Visa gets ready for Rio

The torch might still be working its way around the globe, but Visa Europe has fired the starter gun for its 2016 Rio summer Olympic Games campaign, with BBD on board as always.

The first salvo of many active promotions is now live and offers the chance for entrants to win a Samsung phone or tickets to the Rio games.

The promotion was launched in Switzerland and is available in French, German and Italian. In the lead up to Rio, Visa will be releasing around 20 promotions on 20 websites in 14 languages.

As always, the marketing material emphasises the speed of Visa contactless payments as well as Visa’s long-standing association with the Olympic Games as a major sponsor. Just as the heart of the Olympics is ‘Always on’, so is Visa goes the message.

For BBD, the challenge is to run the most parallel promotions to date, with 12 live simultaneous promotions across Europe.

“The Olympic Games are all about bringing countries together in harmony,” says BBD Visa Europe Account Director Jessica Williams. “And likewise we’re working with more markets than ever and feeling very connected.”
