Producer/Project Manager

About the role

We believe a project manager or producer is one of the hardest roles in a fast-paced, digitally-focused agency. At a project level you are accountable for the accurate collection, definition and documentation of requirements, and the ongoing dissemination and management of this to the teams. You are the pivotal conduit between the client and our studio, and the one that must drive the project, ensuring client expectations are met whilst working within the time, technical and financial restraints.

You will be at the sharp end; working with Client Services on a range of projects. This could vary from heavy tech, with enterprise level CMS platforms on a global site delivery scale, through to short-term, high intensity projects with resources scattered across the globe.

You will also find yourself at our London office regularly, ensuring wherever the client communication starts you are there to drive the project.

Ultimately the PM/Producer role is about making ideas on a piece of paper come to life by truly understanding what is needed and assembling and managing the right people through the journey.

About you

You will be personable, highly motivated and organised, with a desire to make ideas a reality, whilst keeping a firm hand on the reins. You should understand when to say ‘no’ and not be afraid of it, when to say yes but keep a record of it and when that sudden client change means a phase two is inevitable.

Your business acumen will mean you can talk to clients and get a real understanding of what they want to achieve. At the same time, your technical abilities will mean you can converse with developers at a level that they understand.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Client Services in estimating project timescales, developing costs and monitoring budgets
  • Working with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, and developing all relevant documentation from start to finish on a project
  • Manage an array of projects simultaneously, acting as the PM/Producer
  • Assist teams to improve the way they work, establishing a predictable and sustainable approach
  • Ensure cross-team coordination between the Developers, User Experience Designers and Creative. Fostering better communication between the disciplines
  • Facilitate with reporting iteration planning, retrospectives, producing relevant metrics that help the team see how they are performing

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple planned and unplanned projects, large and small changes, absorbing technical and logistical issues, and rapidly defining and implementing resolution plans
  • Experience in AGILE SCRUM methodologies using: Iterations, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and stories as required
  • Experience of carrying out the Project Manager role using Waterfall methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of major technical projects involving a range of CMS platforms from commission to completion
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with proven experience in communicating directly with international customers, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels within the business

Experience and qualifications

Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or with equivalent experience.

Accredited project management qualification(s) in a relevant methodology (e.g. SCRUM (Agile), PRINCE2 or ITIL) is a benefit.

A proven track record on projects which challenge mere mortals, and the ability to demonstrate effective client and project management is a must.

Reporting lines

It’s not a cast of thousands but you will work closely with Client Services and the Technical teams, supporting them in developing our client portfolios. You will work both independently and as a team, with Client Services there to support you in delivering awesomeness on a daily basis.

Our eminent MD, Chairman and CSD can also be found meddling in projects to make sure the work is up to their ever soaring standards.

Account Director

 

About the role

The Account Director is a leading role within the Client Services team, reporting to the Business Director. You’ll need to be a fairly seasoned operator at this level – used to managing a team and driving value to clients from brief inception to delivery.

Specifically, your role in the Agency is to:

  • Build and nurture positive and profitable client relationships
  • Lead and direct the acquisition and delivery of client work, adding value throught the process

Your role in our Team:

  • Strategically own the client relationship
  • Promote and deliver client service best practice in your own team and across the business

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategically support and advise clients across the Bright Blue Day offer (Go2 Brands, Digital transformation, integrated communications, content and social)
  • Identify and optimise individual client and team value
  • Build and nurture team of self-reliant client service professionals (recruitment, training and personal development)
  • Evangelise Bright Blue Day offer and work internally and externally
  • Facilitate efficient and timely client administration
  • Facilitate the efficient and timely provision of management information
  • Be involved in winning new business and on-boarding new clients.

You’ll need to be a bit of a self-starter who thrives on working in a collaborative environment to get the best for Bright Blue Day and your client.

Mid Weight Creative Designer

About the role

As a Mid Weight Creative Designer at Bright Blue Day you are expected to be a conceptual ideas based designer with an “idea is king” attitude – you will deliver solutions of the highest quality both individually and as part of a team – with a great eye for detail, you’ll be enthusiastic and motivated. You need to “get digital” – you will understand where and how social media can add value, be able to think video/animation but also be able to design everything from a brochure or DM solution through to emails and websites and strive to do the best possible job you can in everything you do.

About you

You will have 4 years + industry experience, be able to thrive in a fast moving environment and push yourself to produce work that is of a the very highest standard.

You have a demonstrable level of expertise in:

  • The full Adode Creative suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Producing well thought out beautifully crafted design solutions and are equally comfortable working across both traditional and digital channels. You are expected
    to produce great work on every job that you work on and push yourself to
    always do better than before and surprise and delight clients in everything
    you do.
  • The retouching of imagery not necessarily to a finished standard but high
    enough quality to get an idea across.
  • Drawing and scamping of ideas.
  • Illustration skills would be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail which will be second to none
  • Adding to and suggest where a project can be improved or added to –
    not just take an order to produce x.
  • Keeping inspired and up-to-date with the latest going’s on in the design world
  • Working and learning from other members of the team to evolve your knowledge
  • Ensuring you produce your work in a timely efficient manner at all times
  • Bonding and fusing with other departments so we are efficient, collaborative
    and working as a team

Reporting lines

We are a small close knit team and you will report to the Creative Director. You will work both independently on projects and with other members of the creative team - including copywriters, conceptual creatives and artworkers.

Account Executive

About the Role

As an Account Exec your role and the part you play in the team, is pivotal to our success with clients. Clients can be fickle, disorganised and bloody hard work. But our Account Exec position is about supporting the Account Manager and Account Director, maintaining positive client relationships, supporting projects through the agency and delivering on expectations.

You will be at the coal face where all the action happens, helping to decipher the brief and provide hands-on support in all the tasks that ultimately make ideas on a piece of paper come to life.

You will work with a small skilled team headed up by your Account Director. The team are driven to deliver the best to our clients, and as part of that team you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the briefs, the quality of our delivery and the financials of the accounts.
About You
You will be personable, highly motivated, and ambitious with a desire to impress and make people smile. You should be able to organize your own time, spin multiple plates with a keen eye for detail and not be afraid to roll your sleeves up and get involved.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting your Account Manager to deliver on day-to-day tasks.
Developing creative and technical briefs with your team, planning and technical teams
Support in keeping financial planning, status reports and project plans up to date.
Drafting cost plans
Scheduling studio resource
Briefing & copy-checking
Handling client feedback through studio
Site testing & CMS uploads
Image sourcing
And generally making our clients smile

Experience & Qualifications

It doesn’t matter if you studied cartography or landscape gardening; if you’ve got the right stuff we want you.

That said, a background in marketing, advertising or communications (through work, study or play) would be preferable and agency experience is a bonus.

You must be confident writing professional communications, handling enquiries over the phone and be generally familiar with standard office programmes (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
