AN AUTHENTIC WAY TO GET CONSUMER DATA

Despite being one of the world’s super brands, consumers often aren’t particularly invested in Visa. With engagement outside of issuing banks often proving challenging, their brand needed a tool that would help them grab attention and resonate authentically.

Drawing on over 13 years of successful partnership, bbd were entrusted to develop Visa’s Global promotion engine. The result? A powerful tool that could develop, deliver and optimise active digital and social consumer promotions — collecting valuable consumer data and insights in a fun, relevant and engaging way.

By gamifying transactions and rewarding engagement the engine delivers Visa a host of benefits, including:

  • Driving awareness and usage of their many services by rewarding consumers for transactions – reinforcing the payment behaviour changes the brand is striving for.
  • Delivering a powerful new way to incentivise desired behaviour that deepens Visa’s relationships with consumers.
  • Enabling promotional activities to be more closely aligned to Visa’s market objectives, namely:
    • Promoting and leveraging sponsorship activity
    • Rewarding the use of contactless payments and Apple Pay
    • Encouraging card use abroad. 
       
Global reach across a wealth of new data points

Since its launch, the engine has been continually refined and improved. It now offers 27 markets across Europe the ability to rapidly deploy promotions using out of the box tools, whilst still maximising impact.

In FY22 alone the bbd promo engine collected 691,978 unique data points, working with individual Visa market teams to activate promotions.
